Best Skullcandy Crusher 2014 Review 2022

Skullcandy Crusher 2014 are fabulous for critical listening and are pretty comfortable. They have a toggle on the right ear cup, which regulates the amount of bass. This is a unique feature, but still, it generally makes the sound quality a bit off-balance and this is worse for pickier people.

Unfortunately, they are not sturdy headphones because they are plastic and are put together.

About Skullcandy

skullcandy-crusher-2014

Skullcandy is a great music tech company that makes excellent headphones and earbuds. In 2014, they did come out with the Skullcandy Crusher 2014 headphones, which rocked the world. The Skullcandy Crusher 2014 are trendy because the bass is so strong that you can feel it in your bones.

Besides, they cost between $70 and $100 per pair, which has helped them win over younger fans.

Detaile information

Mixed Usage

The Skullcandy Crusher are mediocre for mixed usage. They’re comfortable and have a decent sound with an adjustable bass slider. Unfortunately, they won’t be ideal for loud environments because they do not block a lot of noise. They also leak quite a bit at loud volumes which makes them less practical in some situations.

PROS
Adjustable bass response.
Comfortable and lightweight design.
CONS
Poor noise isolation.
Cheap build quality.
Leaky at moderate-to-high volumes.

Neutral Sound

Average for neutral listening. These headphones are not intended to deliver the most neutral sound. Their unusually springy design and bass slider make them geared towards a powerful low-end that if turned all the way up, sounds overly bass-heavy. This may be exactly what some fans of bass are looking for. However, in most situations, they will sound too uneven and poorly balanced for neutral listeners, except when the bass slider is at 0.

Commute/Travel

Not ideal for noisy commutes. They poorly isolate listeners in loud environments and will let a lot of ambient noise seep into your audio, especially on a lively bus or train ride.

Sports/Fitness

Mediocre for sports. The Skullcandy Crusher headphones are too bulky and unstable for high-intensity exercises, like running. They also have a poor control scheme.

Office work

Mediocre-at-best for office use. Although they’re decently comfortable headphones, the poor isolation will not block a lot of office chatter. They also leak a quite a bit at higher volumes and may distract your colleagues.

Wireless Gaming

Average for gaming. The wired design of the Crushers means they have practically no latency when gaming. They also have a decently balanced sound, that thanks to the bass slider, makes some games sound more exciting. Unfortunately, they do not have many customisation options. They also make your ears a little warm when gaming for a while and they do not have the convenience of a wireless design.

Skullcandy Crusher 2014 Review

The Skullcandy Crusher 2014 headphones come in different colours and prints, with a wide variety of options. You will be able to listen for days on end because of how comfortable they are.

They are easy to carry because they are foldable and put inside a travel bag or handbag. A PVC band on the top of the headphones helps hold your head in place. That’s why it would be awkward, but it doesn’t feel like that. Synthetic leather makes the ear cups feel good against the ears and head.

Skullcandy Crusher 2014 Headphone Size & Style

skullcandy-crusher-2014

The Skullcandy Crusher 2014 are more giant headphones that go over the ear. They are significant because they have two driver vehicles and one amplifier inside. Inside, you’ll see that each ear is powered by a battery, and at the bottom, you’ll see chrome grills and the audio input.

When the bass is turned up, the Skullcandy Crusher 2014 make a lovely rattling sound, but they can also sound hollow. When the volume is low, the voices sound far away, and you can hear them better when users increase the volume.

The Skullcandy Crusher 2014 model, are boring over-ear headphones that look and feel cheap. The whole thing is made of plastic, the ear cups are big and square-ish, and the headband is wide. They come in many different colour combinations, from a military-style green to bright tomato red.

Skullcandy Crusher 2014 Performance

The Skullcandy Crusher 2014 unique design encourages everyone to join, even with different tastes. But the sound quality of these cans sends a bit of a strange message.

If you don’t put in an AA battery, the primary REX40 drivers inside do their best to make you proud. As a last resort, they do a good job. But if you don’t turn on the powerful Sensation55 bass drivers, the Skullcandy Crusher 2014 can only make a weak bass sound, with mids and highs that are hard to hear. Oops, REX.

Put the battery in and turn on the Bass Sensation Adjustment selector to get bass that you can feel. Sounds below that same frequency level are picked up by the driver and blasted out. It functions most of the time because the bass is added in the right places. But it works so many times as it doesn’t.

Hip-hop, funk, jazz, and other music with a clear beat or many layers of instruments sounded great with the Skullcandy Crusher 2014 headphones.

Modern rock music like The National, The Strokes, and other bands with unconventional professional studios tended to trick the bass driver on the Skullcandy Crusher 2014 headphones, making parts of songs sound either too full of bass or eerily empty of it. You can find a good balance if you take your time with the slider.

Most problems we had could be fixed by making a tiny change to the bass of the Skullcandy Crusher 2014 headphones.

Skullcandy Crusher 2014 Comfort Level

The Skullcandy Crusher 2014 headphones are pretty comfortable. They’re not too heavy, and the ear cuffings are just big enough and well-padded enough to fit most ears. Unfortunately, the Skullcandy Crusher 2014 are a bit tight on the head, which gets tiring after a while, as well as the liner on the headset may not be as comfy as on the earcups.

Skullcandy Crusher 2014 Control Settings

The controls for the Skullcandy Crusher 2014 r aren’t excellent. You only need one click to play, stop, and skip tracks. In addition, they get a physical slider that controls the amount of bass but not the volume. This is disappointing, especially since the one in-line control button doesn’t give good tactile feedback either.

SkullCandy Crusher 2014 Headphones Have Fantastic Bass.

This feature, about which Skull Candy warned us, is excellent. I like bass, and the Skullcandy Crusher 2014 have more bass than any other brand. The bass on the Skullcandy Crusher 2014 is powerful, but the sound quality isn’t the best.

Features

  • Adjustable bass slider
  • REX40 main driver
  • Sensation55 bass driver
  • Built-in amplifier

What’s In The Box?

Opening the box the first thing you’ll see is another piece of cardboard holding the quick start guide. Underneath this you’ll find the headphones. Along with the headphones themselves you’ll also find the included cable with remote and mic, carrying case, and a AA battery. Yes, even though these are standard headphones, you’ll need a battery. More on that later.

Skullcandy Crusher 2014 Packaging And Travel Case

The Skullcandy Crusher 2014 fold up into smaller shapes, making them a little easier to carry around. But they’re still reasonably big over-ear headsets that aren’t convenient to carry without needing a bag. Also, the ear cups don’t lie flat.

The Skullcandy Crusher 2014 headphones come with a pouch that protects them from getting scratched. But the thin fabric won’t keep water or damage from happening to the headphones.

Should You Buy The Skullcandy Crusher 2014?

skullcandy-crusher-2014

Yes! If you like intense bass, the Skullcandy Crusher 2014 are some excellent headphones to try. Their price makes them a suitable choice because they are less expensive than things like AirPods, which cost $200 or more. Yet, if you have a lot of experience with headphones, the Skullcandy Crusher 2014 might not be as good as a more expensive pair.

Imagine someone in a car with sound systems that would blast the ceiling off. That’s an excellent way to explain what the Skullcandy Crusher 2014 headphones are like. I would give these to a junior high, high school, or college student as a gift. At that time in our lives, we want to chill out and listen to music with many basses, like MAAD City. Once you turn the bass down, you’ll notice that the sound quality isn’t excellent, but it’s also not bad.

What We Hate About The Skullcandy Crusher 2014

This one has a strong bass, but sometimes the Sensation55 operator will not really know when to add its rugged outer charm to your bangers and when not to. The feature will perform really well jazz, hip-hop, and pop, but it will mess up and misrepresent most other types of music.

The cups couldn’t make a good seal around the ears because they could only move so far. So even though we moved our heads, little bits of noise from outside got into our ears.

There is only a Play/Pause toggle and a mic on the in-line controls. It’s pleasant to have these features, but volume controls would have also been excellent.

Where To Buy The Skullcandy Crusher 2014

It can be a rare find to come across a pair of the Skullcandy Crusher 2014 model headphones in 2022. But there are many places where you can still buy them today. So don’t worry; you don’t have to do the work. We have you covered!

Some great places to find the Skullcandy Crusher 2014 headphones are on Amazon, eBay, and, of course, the official Skullcandy website!

History of Skullcandy

Rick Alden and Cris Williams came up with the idea for Skullcandy in 2003. The Skullcandy Portable Link was the company’s first product. It was shown at the International Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas, Nevada, in 2003.

The LINK system combines headphones with hands-free cell phone technology. This lets users listen to music from a portable audio device while making and receiving calls on their cell phones.

Skullcandy has a patent for LINK technology that works wirelessly.

Fortune magazine said Skullcandy products were “the coolest earbuds in the world” in December 2008.

In April 2011, Skullcandy bought Astro Studios (Astro Gaming). This company made headphones for an amount of money that is not known.

On June 24, 2016, Incipio, a company that makes phone cases, wireless speakers, and other accessories, announced plans to buy Skullcandy for $177 million. However, the deal fell through when Incipio refused to submit a proposed change to the merger agreement, and Skullcandy ended the contract.

Skullcandy thought about many other offers before deciding to sell to Mill Road Capital for $196.9 million.
